Silver Creek Preserve is known for its excellent hatches and is a top destination for fishers in the Western United States. The Preserve is located just south of Hailey, and anglers can find both rainbow and brown trout in abundance.

The Lost River is by Trail Creek Pass and is one of the farther rivers to travel to, but still within a day-trip distance. Fishing enthusiasts can find graylings, cutthroat, and rainbow trout. It is recommended to follow the river along the eastern fork to find more bountiful fish.

Magic Reservoir is one of the few places you can actually get on a boat and spend the day on the water. The reservoir is used for irrigation so be sure to check water levels before you book a trip. You can expect to find Rainbow, Brown Trout, Smallmouth Bass, and Perch here.

The Big Wood River runs north to south in the Wood River Valley, and is said to be one of the best spots for fly fishing. You can expect to catch the notoriously difficult rainbow and brown trout here among the trees and sparkling water.

The Salmon River is one of the favorite fishing spots in the Sawtooth Valley by Galena Pass. Anglers can find Rainbow, Steelhead, Cutthroat, and whitefish in this area, as well as plenty of places to set up camp if you’re interested in a weekend trip.
